RIGENERA - Prato Summer School

What it is
As part of the European project EPIC – Experience Prato Industrial Culture, RIGENERA is the Summer School dedicated to sustainable fashion that transforms Prato’s textile district into an immersive learning lab.

Promoted by the Textile Museum of Prato, the initiative is one of EPIC’s key educational pillars, aiming to enhance local industrial heritage through new forms of conscious, educational tourism. In this context, education becomes a tool to understand and interpret the fashion system’s transition toward more circular and responsible models.

Prato and the textile industry
Prato’s textile district is one of the most active in Europe, with a fully operational production chain and a long-standing manufacturing tradition. It is within this context that the Textile Museum launches the first edition of RIGENERA – an Educational Tour exploring sustainable fashion. This training initiative focuses on sustainability and circularity in fashion and textiles, with the territory itself playing a central role as a key learning resource.

EPIC and RIGENERA
RIGENERA offers an intensive five-day experience (29 June – 4 July 2026) combining theoretical lectures, company visits, and meetings with international experts. The local territory—through its active and evolving production chain—becomes an integral part of the educational journey, giving participants direct access to cutting-edge practices in sustainability, material innovation, and the circular economy.

Through this project, EPIC strengthens its commitment to connecting industrial culture, education, and regional development, helping position Prato as a European hub for sustainability education in the textile and fashion sectors.
