With the European project EPIC (Experience Prato Industrial Culture), the City of Prato will invest funds from the European Urban Initiative program to enhance tourism offerings related to its industrial heritage and create an innovative and sustainable tourism product. The goal of EPIC, a project led by the Municipality of Prato, working alongside nine public and private partners, is to grow and innovate the TIPO – Turismo Industriale Prato experience, enhancing the textile district's manufacturing heritage as a unique tourist attraction.

The project also includes: industrial experiences in augmented and virtual reality; interactive stations throughout the city (Campolmi, Manifatture Digitali, etc.); events and activities co-designed with the community; digital marketing and new itineraries on international tourism platforms; training for operators and innovative governance.

EPIC doesn't stop in Prato: the model will be shared with the European cities of Bilbao (Spain), Miskolc (Hungary), and Pilsen (Czech Republic), to inspire new ways of experiencing urban tourism.

Together with tourism stakeholders - hotels, restaurants, guides, cultural site managers, etc. - and with the involvement of district businesses and civil society, EPIC will promote the co-design of new tourism products.
